SURGERY, CHEMOTHERAPY, & RADIATION THERAPY
SURGERY: The goal of surgery is to remove the cancer. There are 2 main types of surgeries and reconstruction may play a role too. However, based on your stage and receptor status (ER, PR, Her2neu), your team may recommend chemotherapy first.
CHEMOTHERAPY: As noted above, chemotherapy may be first, or it may follow surgery. However, it is important to discuss with your Medical Oncologist (chemo Doc) common side effects. There are additional "golden nuggets" also shared in this section
RADIATION THERAPY: Radiation therapy is an integral part of MOST breast cancer treatments.
